CWCYR is a research center in Ethiopia that conducts interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research, training, and community services to improve the wellbeing and welfare of women, children, and youth. Its duties include creating an institutionalized child and youth and women research forum, developing research projects, conducting researches, designing research conferences, and disseminating research results. It also offers short-term and midterm trainings, develops Bachelor and Master’s Degree programs in Childhood studies and Gender studies, and creates collaborative links between universities and governments, NGOs, and academic institutions. CWCYR disseminates research results through journals, books, bulletins, electronic medias, and conferences at local and international levels, and facilitates capacity building activities of academic staff. It promotes children’s participation in decision making and enhances their capacity to cope with social and economic dynamics in urban and rural environments. It aims to create links between the university and stakeholders for generation and dissemination of research outputs.
