College of Business and Economics
The College of Business and Economics is one of the colleges of Dilla University, established in 1998. Over the past 18 years, it has made significant contributions to the overall development of the country and the national mission and vision of the university through teaching, research, and community service, particularly in producing qualified graduates. The college began with three departments (Management, Accounting and Finance, and Economics) in 1998 with a total of 88 students. The fourth department (Public Administration and Development Management) was opened in 2000. In 2008, an additional fifth department was opened, initially named Logistics and Transport Management, which was later renamed Logistics and Supply Chain Management in 2013.
Currently, the college offers five undergraduate programs and three postgraduate programs. The postgraduate programs in the college includes: Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, MBA in General, and Development Economics.
In addition to teaching and learning, the college has also been highly engaged in research and community services. Staffs of the college are active in developing research proposals, conducting researches, organizing seminars and providing community services.
