Mission

The Department of Water Resources Engineering at Dilla University is dedicated to advancing sustainable water resources management through education, research, and community engagement. The department offers training in water resource engineering mainly focusing on water resource planning and management, hydraulic, irrigation and water supply engineering aspects, and equiping professionals with the skill to plan, design, manage, and safeguard water resource infrastructures. These effort directly supports the socioeconomic development, environmental sustainability, and the achievements of relevant sustainable development goals (SDG), particularly SDG 6 (Clean water and Sanitation) and SDG 13 (climate action).

Vision

The Water Resources Engineering program aligns with the vision of Dilla University becoming a nationally competent and internationally recognized institution by 2030. The department aims to be a regional hub of excellence, advancing innovation and producing highly skilled graduates.

The mission of of Water Resource Engineering is producing competent graduates and strengthening industry linkages through research and collaboration. By integrating theory with practice, it trains engineers to plan, design, and manage sustainable water systems.
