History

Dilla University College of Engineering and Technology (DU-CoET) is one of the colleges established in the university in 2003 E.C to produce competent professionals that will supportthe realization of the industrialized development of the nation. It is evident that Engineering and Technology education is of pivotal importance for the industrial development of Ethiopia. Consequently, the Government of Ethiopia is establishing strong higher learning institutions,
which focus on engineering and technology education, research and technology transfer, to ensure the economic competitiveness of the national industry. In this regard, the engineering and technology education program in Dilla University was upgraded from the so called, School of Engineering and Technology to College of Engineering and Technology during 2005 E.C academic year. Currently, DU-CoET is offering eight/9/ undergraduate programs in the fields of Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering , Construction Technology and Management (CoTM), Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Architecture, Automotive Engineering, Food Engineering and one post graduate master program in Computer Science and Networking

Provide overall academic and administrative leadership to drive the university’s strategic vision within the college. Oversee curriculum development, programme accreditation, and quality assurance to ensure national compliance, while managing teaching loads, course assignments, and schedules.
