Conferences and/or Symposiums So far, IIS has organized three annual national research symposia. The themes of the symposia are presented below:

• First symposium on “Indigenous Knowledge, Governance and development Nexus” (June 4-5, 2013) 
• Second symposium on “Indigenous Peoples’ Rights, Indigenous Knowledge and Sustainable Natural Resource Management in Ethiopia” (April 2-3, 2014)
• Third symposium on “Globalization, Development and Indigenous Peoples in Ethipia” (May 18-19, 2016)
